Summary
Zephaniah served as a prophet during the reign of Josiah. His lineage is traced back to Hezekiah. The book was written during the early part of Josiah's reign, probably before the great reforms. It appears that Zephaniah may have been instrumental in causing Josiah's reforms. The conditions show low morals and religious apostasy.
